I love to cook.

I find it relaxing and it helps me center and focus.

But lately I’ve been screwing it all up.

* Over-cooking.
* Over-seasoning.
* Bad timing.
* Not keeping focused.
* Food catching fire.
* The whole darn grill catching fire.

There’s nothing quite like torching $200 worth of steaks and then having to serve it to family and friends.

(What’s this got to do with real estate investing? — hang in there, I’ll get there.)

The problem is I’ve been getting too fancy lately.

And all I really need to do is stick to the basics.

Which is the same problem people make when building a real estate investing business.

They get too fancy and start to mess up the basics.

They start doing deals that don’t really nourish them or their wallets.

They start expanding far beyond where they really need to be and then everything collapses.

(l told you I’d tie it into real estate investing.)

Look…

You don’t need to be fancy.

You just need to master — and remember to stick to — the basics.

1. Find the Deal.
2. Make the Deal.
3. Get Paid.

That’s it.

Keep it simple.
