The Map and the Compass

Let me tell you an imaginary story… (Don’t be scared, it has a happy ending)

Imagine if you could be – almost effortlessly – more persuasive and more confident and close more deals.

“Get out of the forest as quickly as you can. Your life depends on it.”

You panic.

You start to run, blindly.

You don’t know if you’re going north or south. You don’t even know whether you *should* be going north or south.

Without any bearings or points of reference you end up running around in circles, bloodied and battered.

But … just when you’re giving up hope and resigning yourself to a grisly end, you find a map and a compass.

The map has a big red arrow on it. “You are here”, it says.

The map also shows you the exact route to get to where you need to be: safely out of the forest.

Your overwhelm and panic disappears immediately. You have the confidence and the knowledge that comes with the map and the compass.

You take single, calm steps in precisely the right direction. Within minutes you’re home and dry. Your life is no longer in danger. Your breathing returns to normal and you return to the bosom of your family, warm in the blessed relief that came with the gift of clear direction.

Now… you’re never going to be in exactly that situation, God willing.

But you’re in a VERY similar situation when it comes to closing the deals that are right in front of your nose.

A prospective client shows up at your door and you improvise madly and blindly, and lose the deal more often than you win it.

It’s not your fault. You just don’t know what to do.

What you need to do is lead them through a structured process that is proven to increase your chance of hearing a “yes”.

Because you know you want to make more deals and make more money.

You deserve it.

You see your colleagues around you earning more, taking more vacation with less stress… and you want a piece of the action.
