I received this snarky comment about the fact that my Strategy Sessions are now only 15 minutes instead of 1 hour:
“Seriously? You are only going to give me 15 minutes on the phone now instead of 1 hour? And you expect me to fill out a lengthy questionnaire just for the privilege of talking to you? Get real! No thanks.”
Is 15 minutes enough?
You betcha, baby!
After conducting these Strategy Sessions for a couple of years, I know exactly what to ask you and exactly how to guide the conversation to get you the result you need.
And bottom-line: my time is super valuable and not to be wasted with tire-kickers. Therefore I protect it vigilantly so people don’t waste it.
And my schedule is jam-packed lately.
Because I devote my time to my family, hobbies, and paying students first.
That’s all I have time for these days.
Because this is a busy year.
Lots of travel.
I’ll hit my goal of visiting 100 counties by the middle of summer.
I’m taking flying lessons as that’s been another goal and dream of mine.
And I stay busy producing awesome Traction training events.
So I need to run a tight ship.
No time to waste with tire kickers, I only have time to dedicate to students who are truly serious and active.
That’s why I screen so aggressively.
If you’re going to whine about filling out a questionnaire, why should I give you any of my extremely valuable time?
In addition, I limit the number of people I teach at any given time.
It’s a lifestyle business for me and if I overdo it then I can’t do everything I want, so it defeats the purpose of having the lifestyle freedom of my own business.
So yes, I cut the amount of time I spend doing free sessions.
And I’m very choosy about the students I take into my mentoring program.
I want action takers willing to put in the effort, not dead-weight looking for a magic pill.
