Little by little, the look of your business changes because of the people you admire.

We could say the same for your life too.

Those small decisions you make start to add up BIG.

And who you hang around with, and get your information from, influences who you become (and are in the process of becoming).

I had a long talk about this with my older son during our walk yesterday.

At 11 years old he sees how some kids are just bad news and bring trouble with them wherever they go.

“Avoid those kids” was my simple advice.

And when you can’t, learn to put them in their place. Stay mentally strong and shield yourself from their influence.

Many people don’t seem to think it matters.

They write small bad behaviors off and just turn the other cheek.

I get it.

It’s easier.

But that doesn’t make it better.

And eventually all their nonsense wears you down and wears down the world around you until you wake up one day and don’t even recognize where you are, much less what you’ve become.

So stay on guard.

Protect what you know to be right.

And don’t let the bad apples wear away at you.

Instead…
Choose the people you follow carefully.
Choose the people you surround yourself with carefully.
Choose the people you admire carefully.

Then you have a chance at preserving your traditions, achieving your greatness, and passing it on to the next generation.
