One of my buyers who used to buy my wholesale property deals had a nickname for me.
He called me the “Lifestyle Wholesaler”
Why?
Because, in his words, I’d do a deal, then jet off to Asia.
Or do a deal, then go climb a mountain out West.
Or leave closing, check in hand, and go spend a week with my parents.
He thought it was a great lifestyle.
And it is.
But I never liked the name the “Lifestyle Wholesaler”.
Why not?
Because “Lifestyles” is a name of a brand of… ahem… rubbers.
Yes, those.
And so I didn’t really like the association with the name.
It sometimes seemed… inappropriate.
And now these days everyone is on Fakebook pounding their chests about their fabulous “lifestyle”.
So I still don’t like the name.
But I do like the concept behind it.
Just need to come up with a better name.
But regardless, having a “Tom Zeeb style business” is paying off even more now. Because COVID makes everyone do things the way I’ve been doing them for years.
And making it the standard to boot.
What do I mean?
OPERATING REMOTELY!
I’ve done it for nearly 20 years and it used to raise eyebrows or be frowned upon as taboo. So I used to hide the fact I was gone and not physically present.
But these days no one objects to doing things remotely. Heck, they almost welcome and expect it.
Remote inspections.
Remote negotiations.
Remote contract signings.
Remote closings.
Awesome!
Just like I’ve been doing it for years, and no longer any reason to hide it.
It’s cool to be ahead of the curve.
And with all my systems and frameworks built as if I was travelling to far flung places, I haven’t had to adapt to the new COVID normal. The situation has adapted itself to the way I have already been operating.
I like that.
And you will too, as this is all part of the new “COVID normal” for 2020 & 2021.
