The past is like a giant rubber band that keeps snapping you back into place.
Back into a place that you don’t really want to be.
But the problem is that you don’t know anything else, so that place feels natural, even if it isn’t really any good for you.
Sad?
Depressed?
Broke?
Inexperienced?
Unsure?
It can all change.
You simply have to become the person you want to be.
Actually put the effort in to become that person, not sit around waiting for it to magically happen.
Nothing happens without effort.
FOCUSED effort.
So stop crying in your soup, and finally get on with it.
Become the person you want to be.
Only you can make it happen.
Put the past behind you.
Let go of the crap you’re hanging onto.
Stop emulating the people who damaged you.
It’s only holding you back.
Be your own man or woman.
Be better.
Sure, given time the rubber will eventually dry up and lose its pull.
It’ll get brittle and break.
But so will you.
And that doesn’t sound like what you really want out of life.
So cut it loose now while you have the chance.
Break free of that giant rubber band that keeps snapping you back into place.
Then move ahead.
Just be better.
