So much starts to race through your mind…

Will he stay healthy?

What will he be like when he grows up?

Will I be a good parent?

Will I ever get a full-night’s sleep again?

Yikes!

My mother was right.

It all changes when you have kids.

You see things differently.

You think differently.

You behave differently.

You worry.

You fret.

But you enjoy.

You don’t sleep.

Too much to think about,

Too much to do,

Too many details to keep track of.

Ugh!

But it’s just like a real estate deal, really.

You have to keep a close eye on it.

Nurse it through any difficulties.

And make sure it grows up properly.

Then, and only then, you get to reap the rewards of seeing how your hard work paid off.

Life will never be the same after your first deal.

Just like life is never the same after you have kids.

But whether you aim to have a well-adjusted child or just to make handsome profits on a deal, life is much easier when you have a solid plan to guide you ahead, and pull you back on track if you get off it.
