Much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
Just finished the Turkey Trot 5mi/8k race through Downtown Buffalo.
My finishing time was 41:54.
Not a bad time, all things considered.
Especially as I haven’t run for 3 weeks.
The hospital stay and lower back complications kept me off my feet and put my running on hold.
I had wanted to crack 40 minutes.
Oh well.
It’s like only making $20,000 on a deal instead of my usual $24,736 average.
Better than nothing.
Getting to the finish line is what’s really important.
Even if one falls a bit shy.
Just like a real estate deal.
Set your goals high (but achievable).
Then even if you fall a tad short, you’ve still won.
The key is just not to get knocked down for good.
So always get back on your feet and keep going.
No matter what.
It’s that simple.
It’s like what Daniel Craig said in the new Bond movie “Skyfall”…
When he told Silva, the villain, “Everybody needs a hobby.”
Silva then asked “So, what’s yours?”
And Bond replied simply:
“Resurrection.”
