A famous quote from Tip O’Neill, who was the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1977 to 1987.
(This is one of the few times I’ll actually quote a liberal with saying something accurate.)
Now I’m going to modify the quote.
“All real estate is local.”
Equally true.
Why?
Because every local market is different.
There is no national real estate market.
The nationwide numbers they report on the “news” are just aggregated numbers, and they become meaningless because the real estate market doesn’t function nationally.
It’s all local, baby.
You simply have to know what’s going on in your neck of the woods.
In your LOCAL market.
And even your local market has sub-markets in it.
Some may be going up.
Some may be going down.
Some may be flat as a pancake.
Yes, there’s money to be made in all of them.
IF you know what you’re doing.
But you have to know the market.
