I’m admitting being guilty of malpractice

For the longest time when I first started out I struggled to get my marketing right.

I tried half-heartedly, but I missed the mark and didn’t get anywhere near the results I needed.

My message simply wasn’t connecting with the motivated sellers I was advertising to.

You could say I was guilty of “Marketing Malpractice”.

What was the problem?

Marketing was a great mystery to me and, honestly, I largely avoided it, as it was more fun to focus on everything else.

But it wasn’t long before everything else became pointless as I didn’t have any deals.

You see, I’m naturally more of an “ops guy” — someone who focuses on operations rather than the mystery of marketing.

Ops guys certainly have their place. To have a great business that delivers what it promises, you have to run a solid operation. If you don’t, then your business will collapse under its own weight (or from your gross incompetence).

But for a business to really take off and grow, you have to master what I’ll call the front-end of the business. Namely you need to be able to bring in new customers, otherwise all your operational skills will be useless, as you won’t have an operation to run.

For us real estate investors, that means finding motivated sellers.

Without motivated sellers, we have nothing.

No deals. No houses to flip. No profits.

So, bottom-line, nothing else really matters in your real estate investing business if you don’t get the marketing right.

If you miss this, you miss everything.

That’s why the first focus, and the primary item I focus all of my bootcamp students on, is…

You guessed it:
Marketing!

For your business to thrive and survive, you need to get to the point where you have a steady flow of leads coming in.

You need to build a steady, consistent flow of leads where you actually have more people than you can handle who are looking to sell their house to you.

This gives you the opportunity to be more choosy and only do the deals that are the best for you.

Did my marketing transformation just happen magically?

No.

As an ops guy, I stubbornly thought I could just figure it out on my own. So I tried and tried, but it just wasn’t my natural way of doing things.

I needed help.

Once I finally admitted that, I hired a marketing mentor.

That changed everything for the better:
* Leads began to flow.
* Deals began to happen consistently.
* Profits started to roll in.
* And my lifestyle ratcheted up quite a few notches.

Was it cheap?

No.

But it made all the difference in the world. So it was worth every pretty penny.

If you have the same problem, if you can’t get the marketing right, if you are frustrated trying to create a steady flow of motivated seller leads, then you need to admit you need help, and you need to get help.
