Looking back on the years…

It’s my older son’s 13th birthday this week.

It all went by fast for him — And for us!

Yes, how fast time can go by.

For those of you that don’t know the story…

Carolina went into labor at our Traction REIA meeting in January 2009.

Someone came to get me and told me she was in the women’s restroom in pain. I walked in (yes, after knocking) and she was there with my mother-in-law.

The due date wasn’t for a few days, but I’ve learned that doesn’t really matter.

Off she went with her mother to the hospital.

I went back to the Traction REIA room full of people, introduced the speaker, told people where I was going, and then ran off to a round of applause.

I jumped in the car and sped to the hospital.

At the hospital, all the TVs showed images of an airplane in the water with all the passengers on the wings. Captain Sully had done the impossible.

I was fascinated, but had other things to watch that day.

A few hours later —  after much exertion on Carolina’s part — Tommy was born!

It was a great day.

So as I sit here now, 13 years later, I’m realizing the same stereotype everyone has always told me about kids. Namely that they make time seem to go by even faster.

It’s true.

Which is why I’m happy to have focused so intensively on my real estate investing business.

Because now I have lots of extra time to spend with him and his younger brother.

I don’t miss much of his life.

Because there’s no J-O-B or boss to pull me away.

I like it that way.

And I’d like the same thing for you.

Is it possible?

Yes.

No matter what your age or how many kids you have or don’t have.

What matters is that you decide to take action and make it happen.

What matters is that you realize time is going by no matter what, so you might as well make the best of it.

You might as well finally start to build the real estate business you’ve wanted to have.

Getting that business going is a matter of getting your marketing right. And finding deals is the key. Which is why this month we have Tony Youngs teaching all about uncovering the Hidden Market.

Make plans to attend. (No matter what the weather turns out to be!)
