A reader wrote to me saying:

“Tom, you seem to have a slight negative streak lately, which is strange. I’m used to having you inspire me, and you still do, but there’s a dark undertone to some of your messages lately.”

My response?

Hey, I call it like it is.

And that’s the problem with raw honesty about the present circumstances.

Some people just don’t want to hear it.

Not everyone’s cup of tea.

Easier to be an ostrich and stick one’s head in the sand.

Perhaps if we close our eyes and pretend the monster isn’t there, then it actually won’t be.

Not.

Time to stop hiding under the bed.

There are some major structural problems out there and if we keep pretending they don’t exist, then they will bite us on the backside.

Sorry, but that’s just a fact.

(Even though many have chosen to ignore it or just believe otherwise).

Hey, I don’t have a crystal ball, but it doesn’t take a genius to see what’s happening or where we’re heading. One just needs to get their head out of their butt and look.

(Re-read Orwell’s “1984” — You shall not just accept Big Brother — you shall LOVE him and never think differently than him.)

As for me, I’ll make money no matter who’s President, or who runs Congress, what any court says, and no matter what happens.

But that’s because I actually have a degree of control.

And I provide one of the basic necessities of life: Housing.

And because I have a PLAN.

Face it, most people don’t.

And when you don’t, you also don’t have any options.

You just have to take what you’re given.

That’s not the way I wanted it.

So I did something about it.

And you can too.

You just need to learn the process.

Then apply yourself,

Work hard,

Stick to it,

Don’t quit,

And don’t give up.

Not popular advice these days, I know.

But that’s the truth.

If you can’t handle it, then you’ll just have to accept whatever’s coming.

Or you can learn how to build something for yourself.

Something that will sustain you — and sustain your family.

It’s your call.

Accept whatever comes, OR actually shape your own future.

For me there is only one choice.
