Good discrimination

This pointed question rolled in:

“Tom, I agree with you about easy button syndrome, but you seem to also be criticizing guru products. Don’t you run a group that brings speakers into sell products? A bit hypocritical, no?”

No.

Because there’s a major difference…

I don’t bring in just anyone.

I discriminate.

I discriminate against unethical and unprofessional “gurus” (goo-roos?).

And I stand behind and guarantee anyone that comes to speak to my people (Namely, I’m the one has to refund if there’s an issue).

I aggressively screen anyone I ask to speak at my group.

I know them personally.

I’ve monitored them over time and done background research.

I know their products to be solid, current, and actually proven to make money for myself or for others.

It’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it.

Why?

Because there are plenty of stories I could tell you about all the rotten apples out there.

Scoundrels who need to be avoided like the plague.

So I put in the work to protect my people.

Why do I bother doing all that work rather than taking the easy way out and just letting it roll?

Because it isn’t all about the money.

Because I actually care that you are taken care of and not mislead.

Because, where I’m from, it’s just the right thing to do.

(Unlike what happens every day on the internet and especially during the big product “launches”. )

Those gurus are distant and far away, so if you have a customer service issue or demand a refund, they can simply not respond or just give you the run-around. (Which happens more often than you might think…)

But you can see me in person every month at my REIA meetings, so I don’t want to screw you over.

I want an ongoing relationship and I want you to be a major success story as a result of what you’ve learned at my meetings.

(Though I suppose even that doesn’t guarantee everyone thinks like me, as I’ve seen some REIA hosts happily screw their people over, and they continue to do so…)

Want to learn from my screened and trusted trainers?

If you’re in the DC area, come to a Traction REIA event.

The next meeting is this Thursday August 17th, though there won’t be a speaker.

Instead it’s a Networking Cocktail Party for our guests and members.

Please RSVP here if you are a member so we can get the food order right with the hotel (It’s going to be cash bar & Italian food):

And if you are a non-member, it’s only $20 to attend.
