I call it “Doubling Down on Stupidity”.
Rather than just admitting they’re wrong, and then correcting themselves to get better, many people just double down on their stupidity.
I find it an annoying human trait (albeit sometimes amusing…) to be so stubborn that you just continue following a path of PROVEN failure rather than admitting something is badly wrong and then fixing it.
Why do people do this?
* Quite often the stupidity people cling to is a way of justifying their bad decisions.
* To justify the way they’ve become.
* To not admit they are wrong.
* Or that their parents were wrong.
* Or that their choices were wrong.
Namely they do it to justify the person they’ve become, but they aren’t really happy about having become that person. (Think about that…)
Rather than understanding that you just need to move on and leave the past behind, they double down and try to justify the stupidity.
It’s like doubling down and pretending to like a tattoo that you actually are tired of, but you now have no choice since you’re stuck with it.
It’s not always an easy thing to change, but IT CAN BE DONE.
LIFE doesn’t need to be like that.
You can actually change the course you’re on.
You just have to WANT to.
And then stop fooling yourself.
So if you really want to get ahead:
Stop the madness.
Stop it right now.
Is there anything really wrong with being honest (with yourself for starters) and just admitting that things didn’t turn out as you planned?
Then you can make the moves necessary to get where you really wanted to be.
Or you can keep rationalizing.
And being stuck.
I’d rather double down on becoming successful than double down on stupidity.
It starts with getting serious about what you are doing.
Being intent, on-purpose, and operating by design.
Not by default.
By running your business like a business, not a passing fancy or a hobby.
How to make this mindset shift?
You need to adopt the solid philosophy of being a winner.
I’ve learned a ton about this very process from Robyn Thompson.
She uses it in all aspects of her life.
1. With the champion racehorses she owns.
2. With the rehab projects she tackles.
3. And with the properties in her buy-and-hold portfolio.
That’s why I’ve asked her to teach the keys to this when she is here at Traction REIA next week.
She is going to teach her entire business system and philosophy on how to rehab houses and hold “keeper” properties for rentals, so that you can understand what it takes to boost your income to much higher levels than it currently is.
I have benefited massively from this training, and I know you will too.
