Fruit cake is a joke this time of year.
It’s passed on endlessly but never actually consumed.
With one exception that I know of…
My dad actually eats the fruitcake.
Odd I know.
And a tradition that I haven’t inherited, yet…

Maybe I’ll try this year.
My grandma used to make a zesty lemon sauce to make it go down better.
I used to just drink the sauce.
That was the tasty part, after all.
What’s this got to do with real estate investing?
Simple, actually.
There’s a lot of un-consumed knowledge floating around out there.
Stuff people pass along like an old fruitcake.
Constantly re-gifted, but never used.
And what good does it do you if you aren’t going to actually consume it?
Sometimes what’s actually good for you is disguised as something unattractive.
Like working hard towards a goal.
Like launching a focused marketing campaign.
Like learning to talk to and negotiate with motived sellers to get a great deal on their property and still have it be truly win-win.
