This note arrived today and I think it will inspire you. It’s well worth the read.

“Hello Matt — Thanks for having this challenge with Tom Zeeb.  My grandfather had some rental property and I enjoyed spending time with him fixing leaky faucets, painting, and learning about the houses.  It is some great childhood memories.  I have had a couple of rentals but have not expanded into other areas of real estate and have not made the jump to full time investing.  I saw Tom Zeeb a number of years ago at my REIA meeting and enjoyed his teachings and philosophies.

I know wholesaling is easy to get into so when I saw this challenge it sparked my interest.  I saw it as a sign to look seriously into real estate investing and give it a shot. With the promise of Deal Machine technology, I thought this couldn’t be any easier.  I was pushed out of my comfort zone and drove around and started my first Driving for Deals.

I got about 3 blocks before I turned around to go home.  I was half way home when I pulled over and refocused.  I knew I needed to give this another shot.  I went back and progressed slowly pulling my car over every couple of houses.  After some time, I completed the drive.  I was super proud I completed my first drive.

The next day it was hard in the beginning but I went and did it again.  And then I won the prize after getting my 138 leads.  I usually don’t win anything.  I am not very lucky when it comes to winning.  I would have been happy without the win, but the prize has turned the week challenge into a year challenge.  I have already started setting up a business address, a website and emails and making this a business.

For this week finding time has been the biggest challenge.  I did run the skip trace on my leads.  To tell you the truth, I didn’t know what a skip trace was before last week.  Once I get the business emails set up, I will start the mail campaign.  I am looking forward to the next meeting and learning what the next steps should be.

This challenge has already transformed my life in a positive way.  I’m still anxious about driving this weekend but I know it is possible to repeat it again and again.

I want to thank you Matt and Tom for a memory that will last a lifetime.
