Was my 2013 recommendation accurate?

Last year, the major recommendation I made for 2013 was this:

“Take charge of your own actions and influence the outcome.”

Wise words.

(If I do say so myself!)

And accurate too, as I look back at just 2 major things that happened this year…

1. Those dependent on “secure” jobs for their well-being got bit bad.

The US Government “shut down”, and although everyone got back-pay (as I predicted while others screamed about the sky falling), it left many people unsettled and showed them how vulnerable their “safe & secure” government jobs actually are.

(Let’s face it, the government can’t keep up this absurd level of spending forever. One day the chickens will come home to roost…)

2. The “Affordable” Health Care Act turned out to be a scam.

(Big shock there. NOT!)

It isn’t affordable and it’s currently putting the screws to millions of Americans.

Just wait until the “Group” plans get hit later in 2014.

I have a Group plan through my business and I’m waiting to see how much more absurd my monthly premium rates will get.

I’ve already started paying some of my doctors in cash, as I know that if I like my doctors, then that’s the only way I’ll be able to keep them.

Let’s face it, the President lied about that and now we’re all paying the price, including those still sycophantically in denial.

Like anything else, more government intervention and regulation will do what it always does, push costs up, hurt people, and do the opposite of what it is “intended” to. (Assuming the intention was actually what we were told…)

While a free market solution will introduce competition and bring rates down.

There is proof of that everywhere, yet soft-socialism continues to wrap its slimy fingers around our necks (and it seems less and less soft lately…)

Unfortunately many people will just continue to believe what they’re told rather than bother to examine any facts or to scrutinize the source of their so-called “data” and “news”.

So what’s the solution?

In my never-to-be-very-humble opinion, I’d make sure you focus on being independent in 2014.

Stay nimble.

Be quick.

And be prepared to adjust to an ever-changing business and personal landscape.

So again:
“Take charge of your own actions and influence the outcome.”

This will again be far more important than ever before.

And ONLY YOU can do this.

No one else is gonna do it for you.

So focus, work at it, and actually make it happen.

Then 2014 will be YOUR year.

Stay alert.

And watch your back.

I can help you if:
1. You are seriously ready to go off on your own and build a thriving business from scratch. Or,
2. You already have a business, but it isn’t performing at the level you need it to.
